
Ingredients for Churros French Toast
- 1/2 brioche loaf (4 thick 1″ cut slices)
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1.5 tsp brown sugar
- 1.5 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1.5 tbsp butter
- 150g cinnamon sugar
- 1.5 cups cornflakes
Ingredients for Chocolate Sauce
- 1/3 cup 75% dark cooking chocolate, chopped
- 1 tbsp Nutella
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions for Churros French Toast
- Cut the brioche slices into half (they should basically look like large rectangles).
- Crush cornflakes in a zip lock and set aside on a plate.
- In a small bowl – mix eggs, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla essence.
- Heat a pan on medium heat and add butter. Note: Save some butter for the other batches.
- Dip brioche slice into the egg mixture on all sides. Then coat ’em with the crushed cornflakes and place in the pan.
- Cook on all sides until golden brown, and then immediately coat the french toast in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Instructions for Chocolate Sauce
- In small saucepan on low heat, stir cream until simmering.
- Then add your dark chocolate & Nutella to the cream. Keep whisking or stirring until completely melted and smooth.

Gouda Tip: Make your cinnamon sugar at home, instead of using the store-bought version. It’s just 1:3 cinnamon to sugar ratio. First add the sugar and then add cinnamon slowly.
