French Toast, Churr’all I Want

Ingredients for Churros French Toast

  • 1/2 brioche loaf (4 thick 1″ cut slices)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1.5 tsp brown sugar
  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1.5 tbsp butter
  • 150g cinnamon sugar
  • 1.5 cups cornflakes

Ingredients for Chocolate Sauce

  • 1/3 cup 75% dark cooking chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Nutella
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Instructions for Churros French Toast

  • Cut the brioche slices into half (they should basically look like large rectangles).
  • Crush cornflakes in a zip lock and set aside on a plate.
  • In a small bowl – mix eggs, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla essence.
  • Heat a pan on medium heat and add butter. Note: Save some butter for the other batches.
  • Dip brioche slice into the egg mixture on all sides. Then coat ’em with the crushed cornflakes and place in the pan.
  • Cook on all sides until golden brown, and then immediately coat the french toast in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Instructions for Chocolate Sauce

  • In small saucepan on low heat, stir cream until simmering.
  • Then add your dark chocolate & Nutella to the cream. Keep whisking or stirring until completely melted and smooth.
  • Drizzle it all over your Churros French Toast & thank us later!

Gouda Tip: Make your cinnamon sugar at home, instead of using the store-bought version. It’s just 1:3 cinnamon to sugar ratio. First add the sugar and then add cinnamon slowly.
