Seared Goats Cheese

Ingredients

  • 4 walnuts, chopped
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 100g goats cheese
  • A bunch of leafy greens

Instructions

  • To toast the walnuts: Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add the walnuts. Stir frequently for 2-3 minutes until the walnuts start to brown and they smell toasted. Remove from pan and transfer to a plate to help them cool evenly.
  • To make the honey glaze sauce: In a saucepan, sauté garlic in butter but do not brown. Add honey, soy sauce and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat and simmer until thick. Note: Do not allow glaze to boil over.
  • In a pan, add olive oil and turn up the heat nice & high. Then add the goats cheese and press it down. Let it sear for about a minute, and then turn & repeat on the other side till it browns.
  • Plate the goats cheese on top of a bed of leafy greens. Drizzle your honey glaze sauce on top and sprinkle the toasted walnuts.
